Greg Oehler, broker/owner of GMAC Real Estate Fredericksburg, is a native of Fredericksburg with over 25 years experience in real estate and finance throughout Texas (including the Hill Country, Dallas and Midland), Colorado and New Mexico. After moving back to Fredericksburg from the Dallas Metroplex area, Greg founded Gillespie Realty in Fredericksburg in the fall of 1994. In the summer of 2006, Gillespie Realty became a franchise of GMAC Real Estate, headquartered in Oakbrook, Illinois.
Greg is currently serving as the Texas Association of Realtors (TAR) representative for the Gillespie County Board of Realtors (GCBOR) and as Chairman of the Good Samaritan Center. He is also a past president of GCBOR, past director, and has served numerous other positions with Realtor Board committees. He is a past Chairman of the Gillespie County Economic Development Commission and a past director of the Hill Country Memorial Hospital's Perry-Feller Professional Building.
Greg has a Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI) designation from TAR and a Premier Service certification with GMAC Real Estate. Other designations include the Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) and the Senior Residential Specialist (SRES). He is also a graduate of the Leadership Gillespie County program and a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg where he served as a council member and youth sponsor. Greg's wife, Donna, is a teacher at Fredericksburg High School. Greg and Donna have two grown daughters who are married and living near Texas A&M University and in San Antonio.
After graduating from Fredericksburg High School in 1972, Greg attended Southwest Texas State University, now Texas State, where he received his bachelor's degree in marketing in 1976 along with athletic and academic honors. Greg put himself through college and originally obtained his real estate license in San Marcos, Texas. After graduation, Greg interned with the Texas Supreme Court and also worked as a legislative aid for Senator Pete Snelson, then chairman of the Senate Intergovernmental Relations Committee.
